“Pompeii was incredible, our tour guid was extremely knowledgeable, showed us all the highlights but we had a good walk around the city. If you haven't got the option of doing 8 hours alone in Pompeii, this tour is great. in the 2-3 hours we were in Pompeii, we saw so much! The lunch was amazing, was even treated to a guitar playing waitor which was brilliant. Herculaneum tour was self guide, nowhere near as big as Pompeii, was interesting but sadly the main items I wanted to see were closed for restoration works. Highly recommend this tour to anyone!!”

“Our guide Antonino picked us up from the hotel and the tour started immediately He started by telling us the history of the eruption of Vesuvio 🌋 (the Italian name) back in AD 79 He explained what happened in the hours and days following and how the people of both Pompeii and Herculaneum were caught out by the speed and intensity of the explosion and subsequent falling ash and debris At both locations he showed us the main buildings and we learnt how to identify some of them like shops, villas and brothels 🤭 Some people we met had suggested skipping the Herculaneum but we found it gave more context…”

“The tourist company welcomed us in the office, clarified the program, and gave us the vouchers. We travelled by shuttle buses of another local company. There is no guide during the day. Vouchers must be substituted for tickets at entrances. In the case of Vesuvius, this was uncomfortable. The bus stopped near the starting point of Vesuvius's pedestrian ascent, and the ticket office was 200 meters down the road.The parking for buses and taxis is crowded and dangerous for pedestrians. It takes at least an hour and a half to climb to the volcano crater and return. It is possible to return to Naples on a later bus.Read more”
